Dr. Daniel Dosoretz
Studying Public Relations, at the University of Florida, Samantha was fortunate to have her first internship with the American Cancer Society. When she was asked to Chair the Cattle Baron’s Ball for 2019, she felt as though she was going back to her roots. Ironically, on the same day, her father-in-law received his sixth and final round of chemotherapy. To say watching his journey the past 9 months has affected her immensely, would be an understatement. She couldn't help but think this was more than a coincidence.
Samantha and her husband, Jeffrey, moved from the Palm Beach area to Fort Myers, almost 13 years ago. They now have two adoring children, Alyssa and Ari, ages 11 and 9. She has been a Realtor with RE/Max Realty Group, since 2013. Prior to moving to Fort Myers, Samantha was a RE/Max agent on the east coast since 2000. She is involved in various other organizations, as well as serving on the Executive Board of Director’s for Temple Judea, the past few years. Samantha also volunteers her time at the Canterbury School, when she can.
This year’s theme “Boots & Bling” is sure to commemorate the Cattle Baron’s Ball’s 15th Year Anniversary. Mark your calendar as you don’t want to miss this Party of the Year! Put on your finest spurs and don’t forget to bring your bling!
Losing her childhood role model and best friend, her grandfather, to bone cancer was devastating. To date, Marie still remembers how painful the last months of his battle were and recalls praying for a cure. When Marie was asked to Vice-Chair the 2019 Cattle Baron’s Ball, she instantly knew that this would be the perfect way to honor the memories of these two important figures in her life
Marie, or as her friends call her “Mari”, is originally from Puerto Rico and attended Emory University. Together with her husband, Michael Rubenstein, they relocated to Naples two years ago from Palm Beach. Marie worked for over ten years in the Wealth Management and Private Banking industries. They have three sons, Sean (10), Jude (5), and Matias (4). Slightly before turning two, their youngest son Matias was diagnosed on the Autism Disorder Spectrum. Since then, Marie has dedicated herself to surrounding her son with an early intervention team of therapists and educating herself about the Spectrum. Family means everything to Marie, “I love my boys! They keep me challenged and make my world spin in different directions”.
Giving back to the community is a priority for Marie, “We understand firsthand how difficult it is as a family, to have health challenges. We have been blessed to have the support of family and friends through our challenges, and I always want to pay that forward”. She is a committee member for Magic Under the Mangroves benefiting the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, the Hope Gala benefiting the JDRF and a committee member for the StarAbility Gala benefiting the StarAbility Foundation in Naples. She also volunteers her time as class mom at the Community School of Naples and the Naples Preschool of the Arts, where her children attend elementary and preschool.
